10-Day tour of National Parks of Tunisia
Tunisia, with its 17 national parks, offers an exceptional ecological diversity ranging from the wetlands of the north to the desert expanses of the south.
This 10-day itinerary allows you to explore some of the country’s most iconic national parks.
Day 1: Arrival in Tunis
- Morning: Arrival at Tunis-Carthage International Airport.
- Afternoon: Hotel check-in and free time to explore the Medina of Tunis.
Day 2: Ichkeul National Park
- Morning: Departure to Ichkeul National Park, about 70 km northwest of Tunis. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is famous for its lake and wetlands that host numerous migratory bird species.
- Afternoon: Hike around the lake and visit the park’s eco-museum.
Day 3: Boukornine National Park
- Morning: Return to Tunis and drive to Boukornine National Park, near Hammam Lif. Known for its biodiversity and hiking trails offering panoramic views of the Gulf of Tunis.

Day 4: Zaghouan National Park

- Morning: Departure to Chambi National Park, home to Tunisia’s highest peak, Djebel Chambi (1,544 meters). The park is known for its rich flora and the presence of Cuvier’s gazelle.

Day 7: Bouhedma National Park
- Morning: Drive to Bouhedma National Park, one of the last wooded steppes in North Africa, home to species such as the scimitar oryx and addax.
- Afternoon: Visit the eco-museum and take a safari to observe the wildlife.
Day 8: Jbil National Park
- Morning: Departure to Jbil National Park, located in the heart of the Sahara Desert. The park features typical dune and reg landscapes of southern Tunisia.
- Afternoon: 4×4 excursion through the park and discovery of the Saharan ecosystem.
Day 9: Sidi Toui National Park
- Morning: Drive to Sidi Toui National Park, a natural reserve protecting flora and fauna adapted to the arid climate.
- Afternoon: Hike in the park and observe the local wildlife.
Day 10: Return to Tunis
- Morning: Return to Tunis.
- Afternoon: Free time for souvenir shopping or cultural visits before departure.
